An embryo is made from two people, and sperm is half of it. Yet most fertility acupuncture focuses almost entirely on the woman. This package cannot do that, because it is built around both of you. Male factor is involved in around half of cases, so treating both partners means we look at the whole picture, not half of it. We are one of the only clinics in the North East that includes both.

We will not promise you a baby, and anyone who does is not being straight with you. Acupuncture is a complementary therapy, not a treatment for infertility, and it cannot promise an outcome. What research explores are the mechanisms, circulation, hormonal regulation and the body's stress response, while individual experiences vary.

What if I want to stop partway through?

Does acupuncture hurt? I am nervous about needles.

The needles are very fine, far thinner than the ones used for injections or blood tests. Most people feel only a tiny sensation, and many find the sessions deeply relaxing. If you or your partner feel nervous, tell Deanna and she will go gently and talk you through every step.

What if I miss a week, go on holiday, or am unwell?

What if my partner cannot come every single week?

What happens at the end of the four months?

Will acupuncture interfere with my medication or fertility treatment?
