Natural Fruit & Veggie Wash

Do you remember the video of worms coming out of strawberries plunged in saltwater that went viral all over social media last year? Gross, right?

I think most of us know that we are supposed to wash fruits and vegetables before eating them – even if they will be peeled. Fruit and veggies straight from the supermarket (or farm) are covered in icky bacteria, bugs, pesticides and other contaminants. Some fruits are even coated with a layer of wax to make them last longer in the stores.

So what's the best way to wash your fruits and veggie, you ask?

I like to use my Lemon Essential Oil or Onguard from doTERRA. I won't wash our fruits and vegetables with soap, water doesn't seem like it's enough on its own. I also don't like to add salt to my food as I think there's enough in our food to start with.

Here's what you can do:
1. Add your fruits and veggies to the sink. Fill up the sink with water, 1 cup of vinegar, and 5-8 drops of a Citrus Oil like doTERRA's Lemon, Lime,  Wild Orange or Onguard Essential Oil
2. Let the fruits and veggies soak in it for about 15 minutes
3. Drain the sink
4. Rinse Clean and let them dry

It's so easy, and I KNOW for certain that my fruits and veggie are clean enough to eat! Plus, our kitchen always smells amazing after I wash our produce!
