Deanna Thomas, Traditional Chinese Acupuncturist serving Saltburn and Teesside

You've been putting up with it long enough

Maybe it's the persistent ache that won't shift. The hormones that feel out of sync. The exhaustion that has become your baseline. Or the monthly pain you've quietly accepted as just part of life.

You've tried things. You're still here. That means something hasn't clicked yet, and that is exactly why people from Saltburn, Marske, Redcar, and Brotton make the drive to our clinic in Middlesbrough.

When we don't address what is happening in the body, it rarely stays still. The sleep gets worse. The energy drops. None of this is inevitable, but it does take something more than hoping it settles on its own.

"Your body isn't failing you. It's trying to tell you something. We're here to help you listen."

The Foundation

TCM Acupuncture Works With Your Body, Not Against It

One of the oldest systems of medicine in the world, refined over more than two thousand years.

Practised within Traditional Chinese Medicine for over two thousand years, acupuncture stimulates specific points that influence circulation, hormonal signalling, nervous system activity, and inflammatory response. In plain terms, it helps your body do what it is already trying to do, more effectively.

Today it is recognised within UK clinical guidelines. NICE recommends acupuncture be considered for chronic primary pain, migraine, and tension-type headache. For many people, it works well alongside conventional care.

We look at the whole pattern: your energy, sleep, digestion, cycle, stress, and emotional state. All of it is diagnostic, which is why no two clients receive the same treatment, even with the same condition.

Ancient Wisdom, Modern Measurement

We can now see your energy on a screen

Alongside traditional pulse and tongue diagnosis, your first appointment includes an AcuGraph energy channel scan: a gentle, non-invasive reading of the body's meridian system.

In a few painless minutes it builds a clear, visual map of where your energy is excess, deficient, or out of balance. Centuries of Chinese medicine thinking, now supported by a precise picture of your body today.

Most clients find it deeply reassuring to finally see, in colour, what they have been feeling all along.

Your First Visit

What Happens at Your First Appointment

Not knowing what to expect is one of the most common reasons people put off booking. Your first session is 1 hour 20 minutes. Here is how it goes.

1

You arrive and settle in

Calm, unhurried, parking outside

The clinic is quiet and welcoming, with no waiting-room atmosphere. Just a calm space to decompress before we start.

2

A proper conversation and assessment

Tongue and pulse diagnosis with AcuGraph scan

We talk through what's brought you here, your health history, sleep, digestion, cycles, and stress. We carry out tongue and pulse diagnosis alongside an AcuGraph energy channel scan that maps where your energy is out of balance. Nothing is irrelevant in TCM.

3

Treatment begins

Around 20 to 30 minutes

Fine sterile needles are placed at the specific points chosen for you. Most people feel a mild, brief sensation and then very little. We leave you to relax undisturbed during needle retention time. Many people drift off.

4

Honest advice on what's next

No pressure to commit

We talk through what was observed and what a realistic plan looks like. You decide what works for you. There is no obligation to commit to anything on the day.

Before You Book

Things People Often Wonder

"I've never tried acupuncture before."

Most people haven't. The initial consultation is designed with that in mind. Deanna explains what is happening throughout and why. The needles are very fine, the sensation is usually mild, and the most common response is that people wish they'd started sooner.

"Is it worth making the trip from Saltburn?"

Clients from Saltburn and the surrounding area come to us regularly. The drive from the TS12 area is around 25 minutes. Most people find the session itself is worth considerably more than the journey.

"How do I know it will work for me?"

We don't make promises we can't keep. What we can point to is 800+ five-star reviews from real clients, a practitioner with degree-level TCM training and postgraduate specialist qualifications, and a treatment approach built around your specific situation rather than a generic protocol.

"I've tried other things and they haven't helped."

That's one of the most common things we hear. TCM addresses the pattern behind the symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves. That distinction is often what makes the difference for people who've felt stuck elsewhere.
